The work is still customer work

This domain is 8 percent. The customers are the operating room, clinics, and patients who never see you. Service recovery is specific: listen, own the problem, fix the set or the missing item, and close the loop. Prioritizing an add-on case over a routine restock is a decision skill the outline names.

HIPAA still applies to a case cart with a patient name on it. Share the minimum necessary, and do not discuss the case in the hallway. Medical terminology shows up because you have to know that a cholecystectomy set is for the gallbladder and a laminectomy set is for the spine. You do not need to be the surgeon. You need to pick up the right tray.

The OR calls: a set arrived without an instrument the surgeon needs. What is the best first response from sterile processing?

Common questions

Does this domain include the certification rules?

Career development is on the outline. CRCST Practice also asks about public CRCST eligibility rules, because mixing up provisional hours and the exam fee is a common and expensive mistake.

What is service recovery?

Acknowledging the failure, correcting it, and confirming the customer has what they need. It is not a speech about how busy decontamination was.
