Clean, charged, and traceable
Patient-care equipment is the smallest domain at 5 percent, and it is still on the exam. Sequential compression sleeves and other disposables are single-patient. You remove them, clean the device according to its IFU, and inspect the cord, housing, and accessories before it is issued again. A frayed cord is out of service.
A missing or expired preventive-maintenance sticker goes to biomedical engineering, not back to the floor. Rental and loaned equipment is logged in and logged out. Store devices clean, dry, and charging if they use batteries. The same OSHA bloodborne-pathogen rules and PPE apply here as in decontamination when the item is contaminated.

Patient Care Equipment and Distribution
A sequential compression device (SCD) comes back from a unit with the leg sleeves still attached. Which part is reprocessed for the next patient?
Common questions
Can I reuse an SCD sleeve on the next patient?
No. Sleeves are single-patient consumables. The pump is what you clean and reuse, per its IFU.
Who handles a failed PM inspection?
Biomedical engineering, or the process your facility named. Do not send the device out with an expired tag.
