What a useful practice test covers
The CRCST exam is 150 multiple-choice questions with a three-hour limit. A useful practice set is not a pile of random trivia. It follows the seven sections in HSPA's exam content outline, revised November 2023, and spends more items on the three sections weighted at 21 percent each: cleaning and disinfection, preparation and packaging, and sterilization.
The free CRCST Practice quiz is 25 original questions weighted the same way. You do not need an account. Each answer shows an explanation and a public citation. The full bank is 491 original questions. Domain drills and timed 150-question mocks are paid.
How to use a score
HSPA does not publish a raw percent that equals a pass. The handbook describes a scaled score. Treat a practice percentage as a map of weak domains, not as a promise. If sterilization items are the ones you miss, that is where the next study block goes.
Try five questions
Five original questions. Answer each one to see the explanation and its public source. The full bank has 491.
Cleaning, Decontamination and Disinfection
Instruments arrive in decontamination with dried blood flaking off the box locks. What most likely happened before they arrived?
